Here is a site I’ve been developing over the past couple of months at LOVE. It’s for Umbro’s global campaign for 1350. The custom module has been built to run on the existing Umbro Flash site.

Bed Peace Installation at the Bluecoat
This installation was setup by DOROTHY and LOVE to mark the anniversary of what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday and the 30th anniversary of his death in 1980. It was then screened onto Ocean’s media screen outside Liverpool Lime Street Station. It is using software similar to our Two Fingers to War installation, except with the additional challenge of capturing the content to be displayed on the big screen.

LOVE LED Board
After hours of decoding and cross-referencing hexadecimal numbers with an Ascii table, and studying the LED boards 20-odd page communication protocol – I was able to create a Processing library to communicate with our LED board via the RS-232 protocol. Sound easy? You should have seen the document! Working that out was the hardest part. Once I got past this bit, I used a Java Twitter library to retrieve the latest tweets to send to the LED Board.
We are streaming the camera at 20 fps so you can see the text scrolling. Oh, and it can do crazy blinking and sparkling transitions, but the strings of text are always too large for them to work!

U+270D: Dear Diary
We’ve just done another interactive projection for DOROTHY / LOVE at Ctrl.Alt.Shift’s Dear Diary event at Hoxton Hall.
We set up a Mac for people to write there darkest (not so secret) secrets on. The movements were recorded and sent to another Mac near the projector. This was running the projection app which randomly picked the secrets and drew them back out on the big screen. It made a few people laugh.

Are You Fox or Chicken?
I made an AIR app for LOVE. for a guerilla projection for Umbro outside of the office, promoting the new Umbro’s Stealth football boot.
Everyone in the video thought the projection was coming from the street behind, when in fact it was out of the building to the left. Which was quite funny.

U+262E: Two Fingers To War
Here is a very cool installation I got to work on for a couple of weeks with LOVE. and DOROTHY. There is a photo booth thing where groups / individuals make crazy poses and get added to a huge photo wall projection above DJ’s and Rappers on stage. The wall can literally build up forever, until we get hit by the next millennium bug anyway. The installation was for CTRL+ALT+SHIFT. at the United Underground 2 held in London’s Southbank Centre. We were invited to set it up and watch people using it. It was rewarding to see people having a laugh with it! A special thanks goes out to Mr Palmer for his top class salesperson skills which helped steer people in to the booth!
Here is the result:
Here is Myself, Adam and Jim in the last photo, not realising we had already missed our last train from London Euston:
And here’s some other people using it:

PS3 The Game
Most people enjoy a summer holiday, but I had the pleasure of spending my summer building games and other bits for the PS3 The Game campaign alongside many other talented people at LOVE.
The Game is a competition between two teams (Team A and Team B), you choose a side. Beat the opposition by playing as many challenges as possible, and scoring as many points as you can. The Game is translated into 22 different languages and consists of over 40 mini-games and thousands of questions.

A Normal Day at LOVE.
For those who were wondering what it looks like when someone is working out a method for an adaptive grid and scaling BitmapData with matrices at LOVE, here it is. Like most days I was having a bad hair day. I apologise for that.

Green Santa
Here is the Green Santa website I worked on for Christmas 2008. Help get the word around and add the Facebook App. I know it’s not Christmas anymore, but there is always this year.
